I’ll be honest: I had no idea this place existed. I mean … I knew about it somewhat but I didn’t KNOW. Tucked in the hills of Dorset lies the Marble House Project, an artist residency during the week… and, as I happily discovered, an incredibly soulful wedding venue on some weekends.

Imagine walking into a house that feels like an art book exploded in the best way: shelves full of inspiration, modern and historic details that stop you in your tracks, textures, sculpture, light. It was the kind of space where every single corner was begging to be photographed (and believe me, I tried).

An Intimate Welcome in the Garden

The weekend kicked off with an Italian-style garden welcome dinner. Pizza and wine at sunset, tucked into the sloping gardens near the main house. Think: golden light, laughter, hands reaching for another slice, friends who hadn’t seen each other in years reuniting over Aperol spritzes and red and white checkered napkins tossed on laps. It felt like something out of a movie. Casual, beautiful, effortlessly perfect.

Ceremony with a View

The next day, we made our way up the hill — a bit of a climb through the forest, but totally worth it for the ceremony site overlooking the mountains. The couple exchanged vows with a panoramic view behind them and a breeze that danced through the trees like it had a front row seat.

It was emotional, raw, joy-filled. The kind of ceremony where people forget about the chairs and just lean into the moment.

Cocktail hour and reception flowed near the upper gardens- a natural extension of the day’s elegance. String lights, signature drinks, little moments of quiet conversation between bursts of belly laughter. Every part of this wedding felt intentional, but not forced. Designed, but not staged.

Favorite Highlights:

  • That emotional first look with the best view of the mountains and gardens

  • The warm glow of the welcome dinner in the fading garden light

  • The couple walking hand-in-hand up the stone path

  • Golden hour dancing on the hilltop

That incredible dance party under disco lights

Final Thoughts?
This wedding reminded me why I love what I do. It wasn’t just beautiful (though it absolutely was). It was layered, alive, artful. A celebration of love in every sense.
